Awamoa Croquet Club will celebrate its 90th birthday with an afternoon tea on Sunday, November 22. Club members, honorary members and representatives from other clubs will attend.

The decision to form the club was made on May 24, 1924, following a meeting held at the Junction Hotel.

Mayor Mr J. McDiarmid occupied the chair, with 25 ladies present, and after some discussion, it was decided that a club known as the Awamoa Croquet Club would be formed.
