Holly Edmondston showed her class to win the 70km National Road Race Championships held in Cambridge on Sunday.

Earlier in the week Edmondston also won Bronze in the Time Trial event, giving her the confidence to throw everything at the draining 70km course.

A pack of eight riders had broken away early on, and the group worked hard together to stay maintain their lead.

Edmondston displayed her superior tactical nous on a sharp corner to sprint for the remaining 500m.

Edmondston attended a Bike NZ Camp in Cambridge with the NZ Track team as part of their preparation for the World Championships in Korea in August for which she is currently fundraising.

Edmondston’s next race will be a team race at the Benchmark Series in Culverton this weekend, competing in the Vidasana Thule team.
