St Kevin’s College Girls First XV’s clash with Ashburton College scheduled for yesterday evening was forfeited due to injuries.
SKC are without Skipper Kaleisha Jones, first five-eighth Lindsay Havea, forward Georgia Oakes, winger Chelsea Seddon and Georgia Vickers due to a broken ankle.
Jones said it was disappointing not to have the available personnel to field a team but is confident her side will be ready for their next fixture.
“A little be (frustrated), but you can’t help these things, we would have had a full squad but with illnesses and injuries, we can’t travel two and a half hours and field a team.
St Kevin’s were handed a 48-5 mauling by Waitaki Girls’ in their last outing but still managed to make the top four of the competition along with Ashburton College and Craighead Diocesan School.
Jones has faith that her side can find some form after some frsutrating defeats.
“When we played against Craighead last time we only lost in the last two minutes in the last play of the game and against Waitaki we just didn’t play well.”
Waitaki Girls’ locked horns with Craighead after the Oamaru Mail went to print last, having fallen to a frustrating 12-0 defeat to the Timaru side last month.
