After suffering a defeat and earning a hard-fought draw against Athletic Marist, Old Boys notched their first win of the season over their closest rivals in a 55-10 clash to widen the gap at the top of the points table at the Whitestone Contracting Stadium.

The holders performed well throughout, taking a 23-3 lead into the break over the second place side.

Excelsior picked up their ninth victory of the campaign in a tightly-contested 25-23 encounter with Valley in a tussle for third place while Kurow offered the shock of the round by downing Maheno 31-14.
