The Oamaru contingent brought a respectable medal haul back from the Otago Swim Championships at Moana Pool in Dunedin.
The five strong team all made their respective finals but Angus Macaulay proved the stand out performer, picking up eight medals including a gold in the 1500 metre freestyle.
Team manager Michelle Walsh praised the young swimmers’ efforts against the tough competition.
“Angus was the swimmer of the meet for us, he gave it everything and did really well,” she said.
“All of the other kids did well to make their finals, the girls were in the 13 to 14 age group and they’re 13 so were competing against others that were a year older, but they all did really well.”
