The Vetlife Rugby Fun Day will host a day of action for keen youngsters at the Whitestone Contracting Stadium on Saturday.
More than 450 junior players will enjoy games of rugby, a free sausage sizzle, prize-giving and a chance to meet Highlanders first five-eighth Hayden Parker.
Parker said he is looking forward to the day and seeing the young players in action.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.
“Kurow is going to be there, and obviously that’s where I used to play, and it’ll be good to see some of the young guys running around.”
For the previous six years, Meridian Energy had sponsored the event held in Kurow, but this year, Vetlife have agreed to support the fun day.
North Otago Rugby CEO Colin Jackson said the Union was very grateful for Vetlife’s enthusiasm and desire to be involved in the local rugby community and the union looked forward to building a long-term relationship with them.
Vetlife director Ivan Holloway said his company was thrilled to have the opportunity to tangibly support the fun day and, like all the kids, he can’t wait for Saturday to come around.
