Motor racing royalty in the shape of both cars and personalities is set to ignite a big Labour Weekend as the McKeown Petroleum Waimate 50 GT Series rolls into action.
Organising committee chairman Rob Aikman said the number of vehicles and drivers signing up for the programme was incredible.
“We have some of the real classics of motor racing, both in terms of drivers and cars, in town for the big weekend of motor sport,” he said.
“One of the latest to submit his entries is Wayne Murdoch from Timaru, who will be behind the wheel of his Shell Sport 1200 Datsun coupe.”
