No upsets in Citizens Shield

Exelsior, Old Boys and Athletic Marist all recorded wins in the latest round of the Citizens Shield on Saturday.

Blues won 44-32 against Kurow. They raced out to a 10-3 lead thanks to a penalty from Jason Forrest and some quick thinking from American centre Sam Sirell which saw him scamper 40m off a quick tap.

Kurow followed that converted try with a penalty to Ben Nowell, before a pass from the Blues was picked up by their winger Slade Evans, who chipped over the Kurow defence and won the race to the ball in goal.
