Oamaru have won the Wild Buck Twenty/20 tournament for the second time since the competition’s inception in 2005.

The choccos toppled Albion, who saw off Union by eight wickets in the previous round, by one wicket in the final at the Whitestone Contracting stadium in a tightly contested affair after downing Valley in their semifinal by seven wickets.

Oamaru skipper Matt Murphy said he hoped the win would inject some momentum into his side’s waning 2013 / 14 campaign with Eastern on the horizon as the Dick Hunt Holiday Competition resumimg this coming Saturday.

Valley ended the day on a high by condemning Union to fourth place in the two sides playoff encounter.
