Old Boys and Excelsior will contest the Citizens Shield final after winning their semifinals at the Whitestone Contracting Stadium on Saturday.
Blues downed Athletic Marist 34-25 in the earlier of the two fixtures to secure a place in the final before Old Boys continued their quest for a fifth successive shield triumph with a 53-12 mauling of Kurow.
Excelsior player-coach Troy Looms said he was pleased with his side’s second half, following a cagey first period, with Blues narrowly leading 17-15 at the interval.
