Rescheduled regatta a success

The Oamaru Harbour Regatta was rescheduled for yesterday following Waitangi Day’s blustery conditions and was enjoyed by all on and off the water.

Seagull outboard motor races, open class sailing races, dinghy rowing races and coracle jousting took place on the water while happy picnickers enjoyed live music and boat displays on the bay.

Friendly Bay Boat Society secretary Mike Harris said the weather offered perfect conditions for sailing and the day had been enjoyed by all involved.

Pick up tomorrow’s edition of the Oamaru Mail for results of the day’s racing.
