Waitaki Boys’ High School’s new rugby posts were put in place yesterday, with help from Heliventures NZ.
School rector Paul Jackson said students were “going to be rapt” to see the new rugby posts put in place.
Wet weather meant the school could not get a truck onto the school’s field to raise the posts, so Heliventures had offered to lift the posts into place for free.
“We had to do something . . . nothing stops Waitaki Boys’ from getting rugby posts up,” Jackson said.
Everyone was thrilled to have the posts up, he said.
Heliventures ground crew member Josh Rushton said lifting the posts into place had been “pretty simple”.
They had used specialist lifting equipment to get the job done, he said.
The job had been done “quickly and efficiently” and they had got a good result, he said.
