The annual South Island Girls’ Rugby Festival kicked off at St Kevin’s College yesterday.
Eight teams from Invercargill to Christchurch are battling it out with the final at 3.30pm today.
SKC were downed 22-0 by Christchurch Girls’ High School in their opening tie, followed by a 31-0 thumping at the hands of Southland Girls High School.
But the day ended positively for the home team with a hard fought 12-10 victory over Rangi/Burnside. The event will wrap up with a sevens showcase tomorrow.
