St Kevin’s College has retained the Leo O’Malley Memorial Trophy for a third successive year, with a thrilling 36-34 victory over Waitaki Boys’ High School on Friday.
Following two contrasting seasons, Waitaki Boys’ were favourites heading into the clash, but this fixture has a habit of favouring desire over form.
St Kevin’s never-say-die attitude served them well, as halfback Brady Kingan’s conversion sailed over the posts to the roar of the SKC faithful with seconds left to play.
