It has been a great few weeks for rising North Otago rugby star Tama Wooldridge.
The talented lock had barely recovered from the celebrations after helping St Kevin’s College win the Blood Match when he was jetting north to Rotorua.
Wooldridge (17) attended a New Zealand Maori under-18 training camp at Rotorua International Stadium last week.
The young men took part in sessions under the watchful eyes of national age group rugby selectors and Super rugby coaches, delved into Maori culture, and played a game against the Chiefs under-18 team.
“I loved it,” Wooldridge said.
“It was a really high level of rugby and a good way to represent my culture.”
Wooldridge, of the far northern Te Aupouri iwi, still has plenty of rugby left this year as St Kevin’s pursues a place in the top four of the New Zealand co-ed tournament, after which he will likely be part of a talented North Otago under-18 squad.trace affiliate linkHow to Run Faster , Increase Your Running Speed and Endurance
