Netball teams from St Kevin’s College and Waitaki Girls’ High School travelled to Dunedin on Sunday for the Otago Secondary Schools Tournament.
Competing in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior A grades, SKC Senior A and Intermediate teams faced tough competition, both finishing in twelfth place, while their Waitaki counterparts finished ninth and seventh respectively.
The St Kevin’s College Junior team had a successful tournament, taking third place in their grade, remaining unbeaten in their pool with wins against Mt Aspiring College, Bayfield High School and St Hilda’s Collegiate.
These good results advanced them to the top eight round on Monday where they took wins over Dunstan High School and Wakatipu High School.
A loss to Taieri College, who eventually won the grade, saw them playoff for third and fourth place in a win against Mt Aspiring.
Waitaki Girls’ Juniors had a final placing of 10th after losses to Taieri and Columba before downing Kavanagh on Monday followed by defeats to St Hildas and Bayfield.
