Tainui back to winning form

Tainui returned to winning form with a 3-2 victory over Northern Hearts in their South Canterbury men’s division one hockey tie at the Network Waitaki Artificial Turf in Oamaru on Saturday.

Tainui lost for the first time this season in a 6-0 drubbing against Wakanui Black in their last outing but produced an accomplished performance against a plucky Hearts side to secure the win.

Tainui were without some key players with Nick Dalziel and Richard Knight unavailable and Shaun Cunningham and player-coach Jared Ovens missing through injury but goals from Josh Dalziel, Jim Keown and Jonty Naylor saw the Oamaru side through the challenging tie.
