Tainui’s poor run of results continued in Timaru with a 4-1 loss to Wakanui Blue in the South Canterbury premier hockey division on Sunday.
Tainui’s troubling dip in form came after winning their first six games of the campaign, but have now lost three times in their last four outings.
Despite the losses, Jared Oven’s side remain at the points table’s summit, thanks to Wakanui Black’s dismal 7-2 defeat to Northern Hearts, but Wakanui Blue are now just four points behind the Oamaru side following the one-sided encounter.
