St Kevin’s College swimmers took to the water for the annual domestic competition on Tuesday in fine weather.
Physical education teacher Janelle Casey said she was pleased the weather allowed the competition to go ahead at the SKC pool and was proud of the students involved in and out of the water.
“After such a lot of rain we were really pleased to be able to continue with our plans to run the Swimming Sports Day from the college pool,” she said.
“I was really proud of the way our house captains and their deputies rallied house support from all of the students and this showed in the way that they participated in the events and gave it their full effort, regardless of ability.”
Principal Paul Olsen praised the students’ efforts with some healthy house competition on show.
“We have a fantastic facility at the college and the Swimming Sports Day is always a great day for our students and staff, and is also a wonderful opportunity to engage in healthy interhouse competition,” he said.
SKC is now preparing for the Athletic Sports taking place today.
