Too close to call in Dick Hunt comp

The Dick Hunt Holiday Competition will head into the Christmas break with nothing between four teams.

Albion, Eastern, Oamaru and Union are all square on 20 points, with Valley trailing on 10.

The opening round saw Albion down holders Union by four runs while Oamaru proved too strong for Valley to notch a seven wicket win.

Eastern began their Dick Hunt campaign in style in round two with an eight wicket win over Albion at Mill Reserve in Palmerston. Oamaru’s 90 run victory over Union was cancelled out due to the Choccos fielding ineligible player.

Union put Eastern to the sword in round three with a 15 run victory, with the Mungas condemning Valley to to a 56 run defeat following a bye week in the opposite fixture at Weston.

Round four will pick up on January 18 with Oamaru and Union playing host to Eastern and Valley respectively, but cricket fans can quench their thirst a little earlier with the Wild Buck Twenty/20 Knockout competition on January 11. Fixtures are yet to be decided.
