Union, Albion take wins

The Dick Hunt Holiday competition has taken club precedence over the Borton Cup Christmas lay-off and round three did not disappoint.

Union took on Eastern at Mill Reserve while Valley played host to Albion in Weston.

Bowling for Eastern Matt McLelland got 3-18 from9.3, with Cameron Grubb 3-21 from 10 and Richard Snell 2-44.

Eastern were 67/2 in their chase and cruising to victory before a major collapse turned the match.

With youngster Bob Martin batting at 11, James Dempster then tried to play a lone hand in an attempt to push Eastern to victory but was bowled out by Dan Conlan for 31 with the total on 125.

Albion proved too strong for Valley in their 50 run win. The Mungas notched 130 runs whilst the home side could only muster 80.
