Valley won back-to-back titles in a thrilling 37-35 win over Waitaki Girls’ High School Wildfire in the final of the North Otago premier netball competition, held at the Taward St courts on Saturday,
The defending champs made it to the final on the back of a 20-goal win, while Wildfire had a slightly harder route with an extra-time victory over schoolmates Lightning Strike.
Valley coach Abbey McKenzie said it was a tough match.
“It was definitely a very tough game that went right to the end. We didn’t think at any stage that we had it won,” she said.
