WBHS sharpshooters take title in Timaru

Waitaki Boys’ High School are the Aoraki Secondary School trapshooting champions after winning the title in Timaru on Sunday.

It is the fourth consecutive year Waitaki has taken the Aoraki Secondary School Clay Target Teams trophy home.

As well as the ultimate team result, the boys achieved some fine individual scores, with Tim Craig taking gold in the Single Rise, followed by Harry Davis and Jack Simpson.

Craig was also top of the pile in the Point Score, Single Barrel and High Gun sections, with Angus Trimble taking third place in the Point Score and Single Barrel.

The Trafo WBHS Trapshooting team of Tim Craig, Jack Simpson, Harry Simpson, Angus Trimble and Daniel Paisley were crowned Aoraki champs, with a score of 265, while Waimate and Timaru high schools finished in second and third place.

Not to be outdone, St Kevin’s College year 12 pupil Georgia-Kate Blair placed first in the Ladies’ Single Barrel section with a 10/10 score.
