Citizen Shield holders Old Boys extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 64-10 hiding of Valley at the Whitestone Contracting Stadium on Saturday, while Excelsior downed Athletic Marist 26-17 and Kurow handed Maheno a 42-0 drubbing.
With forwards that possess the agility and stealth of most backs, finding the solution to contain Old Boys is proving difficult and Valley provided little resistance in preventing the reigning champion’s sixth victory of the campaign.
Sale Pii opened the scoring for Old Boys in the seventh minute, the imposing lock utilised his pace and touched down under the posts, while halfback Inoke Naufahu easily collected the extras from his conversion.
