Oamaru claimed a seven wicket win over Eastern at Waitaki Boys’ High School on Saturday.
Eastern scored 142/6, batting first, with Cameron Crubb scoring 49 and Daniel Oldham making 39.
Seam bowlers Ed Hall and Brayden Lindsay were the chief destroyers, taking 3-28 and 2-17 respectively.
In Oamaru’s turn at bat, Jordy Bartlett top scored with 40 and was ably supported by Ben Cant with 35 and Regan George 32.
Albion lost to Valley by three wickets in the opposite fixture and Mungas skipper Peter Cartwirght said his players will be looking forward to returning to 50-over cricket when the Borton cup begins on Saturday.
