Waitaki legal-high battle will go on

Parliament will today debate the final stages of the Psychoactive Substances Bill and it is likely to be passed into law but Waitaki District Council community safety and development facilitator Helen Algar says the issue won’t go away any time soon.

Upon the bill’s enactment, all synthetic cannabis products will be immediately removed from dairies and non-specialist shops. Strict prohibitions on the sale to, possession and consumption by, those under 18 years old will also come into effect.
