100-year-plus battery back in working order

A piece of equipment which dates back to the 1930s and was in use at the Golden Point gold mine at Macraes Flat into the 1950s, has been restored after many months of painstaking work.

The Tangye engine was originally installed in 1931 and has taken around 16 months to repair, with many of the replacement parts having to be made by hand.
