ANZA race to storm through Oamaru


ANZA Challenge participants, former All Black Marc Ellis and ex Wallaby Wendell Sailor will be attending today’s assembly at Waitaki Boys’ High School’s Hall of Memories as the race passes through Oamaru.

The ANZA Challenge is a 1300km race around New Zealand involving the great and good of Australian and New Zealand sport and television. The race, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation involves two teams running, rowing, cycling and sailing their way around New Zealand, finishing on Saturday.

The teams will be running and cycling 360km from Christchurch to Dunedin, stopping off in Oamaru to collect funds to enable Halberg to continue its work to enable New Zealand youngsters to enjoy the magic of sport.
