Waitaki MP Jacqui Dean has been appointed as one of two parliamentary private secretaries by Prime Minister John Key, to assist in four ministerial portfolios.
Mrs Dean’s appointment will involve assisting Chris Tremain in Local Government and Mr Key in Tourism.
Mr Key said Mrs Dean had extensive Local Government experience from her time as a Waitaki District Councillor and as Deputy Mayor and he expected her to ably assist Mr Tremain.
“It is also fitting that an MP based in the South Island where so much of our tourism is based, will be part of the Tourism team,” Mr Key said.
