Cafe takes second tilt at contest

Last year’s winner of the Lower South Island Cafe of the Year contest is back in for another go at the major honours.

The Roost Cafe, of Oamaru, owned by Wayne Officer and Shona Sinclair, finished second overall to the eventual contest winners, the Paper Moon Cafe from Mairangi Bay and won the Lower South section of the contest.

Oamaru is well represented in the South Island section with entries from Steam Cafe, The Woolstore Cafe, Last Post Restaurant and Bar, Vinnies, Shortblack Cafe, Kurow Winery, Peter Pan Kitchen, Realgood Fudge and the Roost Cafe.
