An afternoon of festive fun is in store at House of Breakthrough church’s Christmas in the Park on December 18.

Again being held at Takaro Park, the popular event will offer entertainment for young and old, including music from Dee May and the Saints, Vanessa Kelly, Joseph Balfe and House of Breakthrough’s Christmas band.

An eight-team tug-o-war will be held and there will be plenty of entertainment for the young ones to enjoy, including two bouncy castles, an inflatable slide and obstacle course, pony rides, face painting, balloon animals and other games.

A sausage sizzle and lolly scramble will also be held and six $100 grocery hampers will be given away.

Unfortunately, Santa could not find time in his busy schedule to attend this year’s festivities.

Co-organiser Natasha Gutsell encouraged families to bring their picnic blankets and baskets.

She said the event was all about offering a little bit of Christmas cheer each year.

“We like to help strengthen families and be able to give back to the community. That’s why we’ve made it a family event – we like to get that community feel.”

It is hoped the sun will shine for the sixth edition of Christmas in the Park, which was first held in 2011.

It will get under way at 3pm and finish about 6pm.Running Sneakers Store¿Qué es un oxímetro? – Medir el oxígeno en sangre con Covid-19
