Community hero gets recognition

SHARE

Most people know her as the owner of Fat Sally’s, Portside and the Criterion Hotel, but as well as runing fine establishments, Sally-Ann Donnelly also devotes her time to helping out others whenever she can.

Visique are giving Mrs Donnelly the recognition she deserves – as a caring hero of the Oamaru community.

They set out to find caring heroes in every region of the country and through radio advertising, posters and word-of-mouth in Visique’s 63-clinic nationwide co-operative.

Mrs Donnelly was nominated by “an admiring acquaintance, friend or family member” who wanted the world to know about her good deeds.

She’s an Oamaru native, and loves it. Not only does she provide financial support to many in the local community, she also devotes her time to helping out others in more practical ways whenever she can.

She’s a true supporter of the town, getting behind local sports teams and organisations, including North Otago Rugby, Special Olympics North Otago and North Otago Child Cancer Foundation.
