The first of the new two-lane bridges being built across the Waitaki River between Kurow and Hakataramea, is taking shape.
The New Zealand Transport Agency’s (NZTA) project manager Steve Proud said the construction of the bridge, which is being built over the southern branch of the river, remains on schedule.
“Piling is now completed and work has started on concreting the bridge columns and the abutments,” he said.
“Work will begin mid-next month driving the 11 piles for the second bridge on the Hakataramea side of the river.
“This work will take until mid-March to complete.”
