As 240 Alliance Group Pukeuri Plant workers remain in limbo without pay from this week, the company and officials say they are working with urgency to resolve the matter.
General manager of processing Kerry Stevens said the nature of seasonal work is that workers are only paid when they are engaged and working.
”That is why we are eager to have the situation resolved as quickly as we can,” he said.
The workers are still awaiting news on how long they will be left without work, after the processing of sheep and lamb at Alliance Group Pukeuri plant has temporarily ceased.
