Oamaru’s Victorian Precinct will hit Australian TV screens next month as the backdrop for an advertisement.
While the details can not be released, a spokeswoman said Oamaru was chosen as the location because the buildings were so “amazingly beautiful and historical” and it was a film-friendly town. The film crew, of about 80 people, are taking two days to film the advertisement, which a number of locals will feature in.
Yesterday filming was based in the Victorian Precinct, and today scenes will be shot around the countryside.
The advert airs in Australia on August 11. It will not show here.
