More than $70,000 in donations have been made to a pair of funds set up in the wake of the fire that killed three members of a Waimate family on Wednesday morning.

Eight-year-old Prem and his parents Tej and Tika Kafle died in the blaze that gutted their flat above the Everest Indian Restaurant and Takeaway in Queen St, which the family operated.

Their funerals were held in Christchurch on Thursday evening, with more than 100 family and friends attending including Waimate Mayor Craig Rowley and Waimate Main School principal Adam Rivett.
