North Otago’s commemoration of Armistice Day returned to the World War 1 memorial opposite the Waitaki District Council office building in Thames St yesterday morning.
“It used to be at the Garden of Memories but that’s World War 2 and after,” John Longman the immediate Otago/South district past president for the RSA and organiser of yesterday’s commemoration said.
“But I wanted it back here; it’s the most appropriate place.”
