Waitaki District Council chief executive officer Michael Ross yesterday announced a restructure proposal, but the total number of job losses won’t be known until a final review.
Mr Ross said some recent resignations and impending retirements had provided an opportunity to look at how the organisation could be structured differently.
A key change under the restructuring proposal was to disestablish the position of Corporate Services Group manager – reducing the current number of group managers from four to three.
In addition to changes at the executive level, Mr Ross said the proposal, if implemented, would lead to a number of other changes in the areas of policy, finance, community, customer, corporate and property services – with two mangers’ roles disestablished.
