A second public meeting to discuss the proposed retirement village to be built in Oamaru is being planned.
The push to hold a second meeting, this time during daylight hours, has come from a request by Waitaki District Council (WDC) mayoral candidate Gary Kircher.
Mr Kircher said he had talked to a number of people who said they would have attended the first meeting, but were reluctant to go out at night.
“If the second meeting was held in the daytime, it would be more suitable for these people,” he said.
“People certainly want to be well informed about the proposal and I think a daytime meeting would be very useful.”
