The Waitaki District Council received 105 resident submissions on the Draft Reserves Management Plan.
Submissions closed on June 4 and people were asked to air their views on the various proposals outlined in the plan.
Repairing or getting new aviaries for the birds at the public gardens was an option, along with establishing smokefree areas around the city and allowing dogs to be let off their leads between 7pm and 8am at specific parks.
There were many other proposals in the plan, such as what should be done with harvested land at Cape Wanbrow, Hampden, Glen Eden, Glen Warren and Moeraki.
Waitaki District Council recreation manager Erik van der Spek said he was happy with the number of submissions received.
“We had great response by the public and verbal submissions will be held on the 25th, with council to consider them all.”
