Waitaki District Council ratepayers can expect a 3.9 per cent rise on their rates for the 2013-14 year. This is higher than the original projection of 3.5 per cent. At Tuesday’s meeting, councillors approved all but one of 23 projects removing $10,000 for new signs for the Victorian Precinct.
Some of the projects, including $583,000 for new footpaths and kerbing and channelling at Weston and $17,000 to fund a carpark and access facilities for a new watersport project at the Ferry Rd irrigation site, will have a negative rates impact.
