The Waitaki District Council will spend an extra $50,000 in Haven St, Moeraki, which volunteers are close to rebuilding after a slip closed the road.
The money, in addition to the $60,000 already allocated by council, will be spent on work around Coronation Hall and Moeraki Motel to prevent further slips by improving approaches alongside the road.
At Wednesday’s council meeting, Waitaki mayor Gary Kircher said the work would involve more drilling and concrete piling to further stabilise the road.
