Second of two new bridges takes shape

Work has begun on the second of the piles for the larger of the two new Waitaki Bridges being built on SH82 between Kurow and Hakataramea.

The bridge, on the Hakataramea side of the river, is almost twice the length of the first bridge.

New Zealand Transport Agency highway manager Colin Knaggs said it was expected to take five months to drive the seven piles.
