More rain is needed in North Otago because the province is still in a drought, North Otago Federated Farmers provincial president Richard Strowger says.
Wednesday’s heavy rainfall had mixed results, being great for Oamaru, with 21mls being recorded at the airport and 16mls south of Oamaru, but the Waitaki Plains and the Valley received just 4-5mls.
Only four days into June, Oamaru already passed the rainfall total for the month of May.
