Dance party to be plenty of fun

Youthtown Oamaru are holding a Halloween themed dance for year 7-8 pupils at the Galleon Function Room tomorrow night.

The dance party is for year 7-8 pupils who want something to do for a couple of hours.

While dressing up is optional, Youthtown Oamaru youth coordinator Gina Healey would love to see as many people as possible come along in Halloween costumes.

Miss Healey said they’d love to see plenty of people on the night.

“We can cater for 150-200 pupils, so it would be good to see that many there.”

It’s the first dance they are holding for the year 7-8 age group this year and so far they’ve had interest from a few schools.

There will be prizes for the best dressed, while lollies and drinks will be available for purchase, tickets to the event cost $2 and will run from 7pm to 9pm.

Meanwhile, Youthtown are holding a gathering on Monday November 3 for anybody who is interested in joining the group and being a youth leader.

They will get to help organise activities for others to do, as well as a variety of other things.

Ideally they are after high school aged people who are wanting to be leaders, but will not turn down anybody.
