Skateboarders, fire jugglers and spectacular visual projections will be on show at the town’s annual Oamaru on Fire this month.
The third Oamaru on Fire will feature an evening of performing arts and pyrotechnics including internationally renowned visual architects Out of the Dark on May 30.
One of the organisers Anton Roswell said the night would be like an Auckland or Sydney night in Oamaru.
For the first time, they would be bringing skateboarders Ben Wallis and Sean Bone to demonstrate their skills at a ramp set up in the street, he said.
“They’re one of the big drawcards.”
Another organiser Jan Kennedy said Out of the Dark would be doing a projection onto the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust building which would “bring it to life”.
“We’re really fortunate to have them,” she said.
This year, there would be more acts, which ranged from New Zealand’s Got Talent Silhouette, a children’s disco and a green screen.
“We want to keep it fresh, keep it relevant and interesting,” Mrs Kennedy said.
Oamaru on Fire will be held in Harbour St on Friday, May 30, from 6.30pm-9pm.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $5.
