A van of eight North Otago golfers were in a car crash on Old West Coast Rd near Yaldhurst on Saturday morning.
In information given to the Oamaru Mail, it is believed the van was a doing a u-turn when it collided with a fuel tanker at 9am.
Four of the golfers were taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries, while four others were uninjured.
One of the golfers was discharged, while three still remained in hospital yesterday with what are believed to be pelvis and jaw injuries.
The golfers were representing the Oamaru Club at the National Chartered Club Tournament in Christchurch. The Oamaru Club declined to comment on the accident.
Christchurch Hospital was unable to release any information on the patients’ condition yesterday.
Christchurch police said an investigation into the crash was ongoing and it was still to be determined whether charges would be laid.
