A group of 15 members from Fitness 24 gym of Oamaru took part in the Mud Sweat and Tears obstacle race at the Wingatui Racecourse in Mosgiel on Sunday.
Hundreds of people take part in the race every year and this year was no exception.
Racegoers could compete in the individual or teams events in the 5km or 10m discipline.
Fitness 24 manager Karen Clement, who was part of the support crew, said it was a fantastic day out.
“It was a great day out, everyone really enjoyed themselves.”
Fifteen members who were part of the gyms tribe fitness programme took part in the individual and teams event.
Mark Esselink took first place in the 45-year-old and over 10km age group, while the team of Kay Murphy, Stacey Cunningham, Tessa Gould and Renee Hooper won the woman’s 10km teams category.
Clement said all the team really enjoyed taking part.
“Three of them had taken part last year, but it was the first time for the rest of the group and they all had a blast, with all of them still laughing well after the finish line.”
The gym members wanted to take part in something different and thought the mud sweat and tears obstacle course was a fantastic idea.
They already have 25 members interested in competing next year.
