The final rates increase for the Waitaki District Council has been set at 2.96%, slightly higher than originally thought, and awaits final adoption to the 2014/15 Annual Plan.
A number of additional projects, including many smaller ones from the Draft Annual Plan consultation process, are now included in this amended result.
One key project, the Roading Resilience Project, accounts for 53 percent of the 2.96 percent increase.
Mayor, Gary Kircher, said the increase is slightly higher than he would have liked but the additional spending will take the district forward.
He said council always aims to get as much value for money spent as possible.
